My Treatments
I specialise in three different treatment types - Play Therapy, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy & Chinese Medicine. You can make an appointment via my Booking Online system for each treatment, or if you have further questions please contact me.
Play Therapy
Play is a child’s first language and children use play to communicate and express what is important for them but to also convey what worries them and where they need help.
I offer Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT), a non-directive play based approach for children aged 2-12. CCPT allows your child to explore, process and heal at their own pace over a period of sessions using therapeutic play techniques. Sessions take place in our playroom where children can immerse themselves in play with specially selected, quality toys and art materials and a nurturing environment. Each child and family is unique, with their own strengths and challenges. I am passionate about working closely with parents to find the best ways to support children and their families to grow and thrive together.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy looks at how the muscles of the face, jaw and tongue are functioning to improve breathing, jaw and face development, tooth alignment and sleep disorders including snoring, restless sleep or frequent waking. It may also significantly enhance immune system function, brain development and overall health. Special exercises are used to correct any imbalances and restore balance to the face and tongue, leading to benefits for the whole body as the child grows.
Chinese Medicine
Chinese medicine is a holistic approach to health where the mind, body and spirit are all connected. This means that any imbalance within the body can have an emotional or physical impact on the body. Chinese medicine treatments may consist of a combination of acupuncture, cupping massage, Chinese herbs and supplements as well as mind-body practices and breathing techniques.
Acupuncture is a painless and effective technique of treating imbalances within the body by inserting tiny and painless needles into specific acupuncture points.
Chinese herbal medicine uses plant medicinals to treat a range of illnesses and symptoms. I only use the highest quality herbs available, sourced from quality farms following stringent guidelines, this means the herbs are more effective and gentle on the digestive symptom.
Cupping uses glass cups placed over the back and chest areas. It is a wonderful modality to treat musculoskeletal pain and improve the immune system, reduce colds and flus and headaches.
